Participate in the 2016 Johannesburg Speech and Drama Festival

SDCSA Johannesburg Branch invites all Gauteng Speech and Drama teachers and schools to participate in our Festival. The Performing Arts (Speech and Drama) Festival takes place annually in March/April. Please note that non-members of the SDCSA Johannesburg Branch will be charged an additional levy to enter.

What to expect

  • A celebration of Speech and Drama showcasing:
  • Individual and group verse speaking
  • Solo and Group, prepared and improvised work, including Monologues, duologues, triologues, quadrologues, poetry, adverts, musical theatre, etcetera
  • Prepared storytelling
  • Creative poetry writing
  • Public speaking and
  • Numerous exciting improvised sections

Other regional festivals

Festivals are a major focus and platform for the important work conducted in drama studios and schools around the country. We welcome information from other regions (Pretoria, Durban, East London, Cape Town, Springs, Bloemfontein, Ladybrand) regarding festivals, drama displays or competitions in these areas.
